Commission : to give an order for or authorize the production of something.

I do accept commissions. I have been involved with the fulfillment of commissioned work in several professional environments over the years and that experience has lead to this process.

    1) First, you contact me. You point out the things you like in my work. We start a question and answer conversation. What famous artists appeals to                you?

        Have you ever commissioned as art work before? Tell me your favorite color and your least favorite. Do you have a place picked out where the work            will be displayed? This may seem like mundane stuff but, we have to start somewhere, so why not here.

    2) After we get to know each other , I will give you a set of attributes that I believe will satisfy your desires. A bit more massaging and we will have a                plan.

    3) There will be a written contract. Why you ask ! I'm a follower of the of a school of thought that I first ran across in Robert Frost's poem "The Mending          Wall". It's simple, "good fences make good Neighbors". In the end I want to be a good neighbor.

    4) Two paintings will be executed. You will pick the one you want and I keep the other.

If all this seems a bit much, please watch the movie "The Agony and the Ecstasy" with Charlton Heston as Michelanglo and Rex Harrison as Pope Julius II. This is an outstanding example of a Commission gone bad and we don't wont that.
